Little Sporelings Foraging Adventure: 1 Adult & 1 Child
Come connect and create with your little ones!
Big forest adventures for little explorers!
Join Wy’east Mycology for a 2.5 hour, child-paced fungal and forest adventure on a beautiful 39acre private farm near Sandy, Oregon.
We'll wander through coniferous forest, open farm pastures, forest edges, and changing microhabitats, following our curiosity and discovering what the land has waiting for us that day.
Little Sporelings will search for mushrooms and other fascinating forest finds while learning how fungi help build healthy forests, break down fallen trees and plants, and form incredible relationships with the living world around them.
We'll look under logs, investigate different shapes, colors and textures, talk about the parts of a mushroom, and learn about the benefits of fungi. Kids will be encouraged to observe, ask questions, get a little dirty, and experience the forest at their own pace.
And mushrooms aren't the only things we'll be foraging for!
Each Little Sporeling will receive a basket to decorate using responsibly gathered natural treasures we discover along the way—leaves, grasses, cones, fallen plant material, and other special finds from the farm. Their decorated basket is theirs to take home as a memory of their adventure.
Because fungi and forests change constantly with the weather and seasons, no two Little Sporelings adventures will ever be exactly the same.

No more than 2 Sporelings for each parent or guardian
Little Sporelings is designed as an educational nature experience rather than an edible mushroom hunt. We teach children to admire and investigate wild mushrooms with their grown-ups rather than assuming a mushroom is safe to eat.
No mushroom knowledge is necessary for kids or grown-ups. Curiosity and a parent or guardian are the only prerequisite.
Come explore, discover, create, and see just how much is happening beneath your feet. 🍄
